November 2011

The 2012 Toyota Yaris has been released, and includes a stronger body and additional safety and standard features.
The latest Toyota Yaris model retains its existing 1.3 and 1.5 litre petrol engine, while fuel consumption has been reduced by approximately four-tenths of a litre per 100 kilometres.
Interior features of the Toyota Yaris include improved leg room and cabin storage thanks to a further 100mm added to the car's length.
Upgrades are available to the audio system, touch-screen display and steering-mounted controls in some models.
Overall, there has been 30mm cut from the Toyota Yaris' height, reducing the car's weight by almost 20 kilograms. Australian engineers have contributed to the latest Toyota 2012 Yaris, with the Toyota Technical Centre in Melbourne (TTCAu) establishing the local model's chassis and suspension tune, as well as the calibration for the steering and throttle.
The car also features an increased spring rate at both the front and the rear, as well as new 255mm ventilated front disc brakes.
Standard safety features across the Toyota Yaris range include Vehicle Stability Control, with reaction control, anti-skid braking system, brake assist, and electronic brake-force distribution.
The Toyota Yaris is one of the manufacturer's highlights and the brand was the best-selling marque in October with 17,239 Australian sales, according to VFACTS.
